Cory Cullinan

Cory Cullinan, MFM student from the late 1970s — early 1980s, graduated from Stanford where he focused on classical music history, electronic music and voice.  He then began a recording career, and soon released his first album.  During this time his music was appearing in mainstream movies, television shows and documentaries.  Next, Cory turned his energy to teaching high school music at Pinewood School where his popular music history course was a made a requirement for all freshman.  He also taught a music composition and production class, and led his students in a variety of successful musical theater and other choral performances.

Several years ago, Cory created an alter-ego, Doctor Noize, a children's music phenomenon.  He inspires audiences with his innovative approach that enables participation in the creative process.  His stage shows feature him performing multiple instruments, and arranging and recording songs live on the spot.  Cory invites audience members—kids and adults—to come onstage and contribute their own talents.  As Doctor Noize, Cory released the recording and book of The Ballad of Phineas McBoof  that tells the story of a lovable monkey's quest for the impossible perfect song with his band, The International Band of Misunderstood Genuises.  Humor features prominently in his personal and professional style!

To date Cory has two Top Ten hits on Sirius XM Kids Place Live! Radio:  "Banana" and "Welcome to Grammaropolis," and is even expanding into the realm of multimedia production.  He is currently collaborating with Outblaze, the creators of animated videos, online games, and mobile apps.  In his spare time, Doctor Noize tours nationally and internationally, engaging more children in the joy of music and music-making.  Check out his website at www.doctornoize.com.
