Nurturing in Children a Lifelong Love of Music
Music For Minors is a non-profit organization founded in 1976, dedicated to nurturing in children a lifelong love of music. Our goal is to keep music education alive in our schools! We run a variety of programs, including the in-school docent program, in-school Music For Learning program, afterschool program, and Roving Docent program.
In the last 5 years alone, 85% of the music education programs dedicated to young learners have disappeared in California. Music For Minors has spent 30 years building a comprehensive, credited, and well respected music education program designed to keep music in our schools. We recruit, train and place music instructors in classrooms throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. For many of the children we serve, we are the only music education they will ever receive.
